As always, it was so great to have such special time with the Haenni's. We love this annual trip to the beach with them -- we have our own houses, in the same little community -- so we get lots of friend time, but still really good family time. (Williams/Hulls - you must join us next year!)

The boys LOVED the water this year. They loved the pool water (as always) and loved the beach too. The loved jumping in the waves, playing in the little streams, boogie boarding.

They started the week out wearing their rain boots down to the ocean. They liked warming up to the sand and having super clean feet as soon as it was time to go.

By the middle/end of the week they'd relaxed a bit. Noah was wearing flip-flops, Griffin wore his crocs, and Miles toughed it out and went barefoot (he'd rather the hot sand on his feet than sand stuck in his crocs).

On the second day of our trip there was a 4th of July golf cart parade. The boys watched it from our fence.

We spent hours at the beach it day. It was hot. It was crowded. But we set up our "home base/tent" and hung out in the water. It was perfect.

Noah spent time each day practicing his light sabor moves. I didn't realize what he was doing at first. Mike picked up on it right away.

We went back to the beach after dinner. The beach was a little quieter. The temperature was a little cooler.

Mike's mom joined us for a couple of days/nights. It was so great to have her there/spend time with her. The kids loved playing twister one afternoon. (Sorry, Peggy, this is the only picture I got of you!)

We spent one afternoon with the Haenni's at the boardwalk playing games, riding rides. Noah opted not to go so he and Peggy stayed home to watch Star Wars and make rice crispy treats.

With Mike on the road so much for work, one of the things we really appreciate is having our family together for the entire week. No flights. No conference calls (well, no more than one or two quick ones). No outside distractions.

I like having my hub to be in-kahoots with.

And, does it get much better than daddy-time like this?

Its perfect.

There are some more pictures on my flickr page. I also made a video of our trip. Would love to spend more time rearranging/splicing/dicing, but we're leaving for another beach trip with my family tomorrow and if I don't wrap this last trip up before we leave, it will surely take 6 more months to get it posted. :)

your pictures are great! and super cute video. Is Griffin a lefty like Noah and Grandma T? love watching Noah practice his light saber moves. Did you notice when Mike was riding in on the boogie board with Griffin the dude in the background throwing himself backwords on the waves? it made me laugh.
love first b&w of noah-it's so soft and the shovel with grinnin griff. so funny and cute that your boys do the rainboots thing. colors in after dinner shots are real cool. heehee about only pic of peggy is the twister one. like the pic of griff at the boardwalk walking and good point about mike and cahoots-good way to put it. love the series of mike throwin his guys up in the air. kind of want you to make and frame a stoyboard with that. great post. great trip. can't wait to watch movie. saving for kate when she wakes. more on that i'm sure.
the boots thing is BRILLIANT! aston hates to get sand in his crocs...its a beach breaker actually. The after dinner twilight shots are beautiful...love every single one. Peggy's twister moves are defiantly way more advanced than any of Aston's grandmoms. will watch movie soon...been dying to watch with aston but he's been out and about so much can't catch him! (currently at concord lego store with dad)
we love the movie. watched it twice in a row already. fave parts other the pictures already noted is how you captured getting set up for group pictures. love that behind the scenes stuff. also love that eileen song.
Love Love Love the shots with Mike tossing the boys. Actually looks like he's catching them falling from the sky. "Pennies from heaven"!
love your movies. something about watching real life set to music always makes me tear up. you had some GREAT shots of griffin in the video that you didn't post on the blog (big eyes and hair curled up a bit)--i hope they make the book one day. :) LOVE the evening shots on the beach and mike throwing each boy. my absolute fave pic is the b&w one of noah running down the beach from behind, with the reflection of water on the beach. and i'm with anne, it's so fun to watch the set up of the group shots. also love the brown and haenni dance parties. would so love it if we go next year...is a group shot on the beach in my bathing suit required, though?? ;)
Our younger 3 always wear their puddle boots to the lake; it's so much easier to deal with when they have to hit the bathroom!
Your pictures are fantastic!
