The boys had so much fun hanging out with Mason. The night that she left Miles said, "mommy, I miss Mason." I said, "its fun to have Mason around, isn't it?" Miles said, "everything is more fun with Mason around." Isn't that SO sweet?
Miles was spoiled with presents this year....so many very cool things! It was a huge year for 'boy toys' -- airplanes, voice changers, ninja turtles, super hero gear, buzz lightyear, transformers, etc... It took him 2 days to open the gifts after his party!
Mike was really excited about the helmet voice changer! Be sure to check it out the next time you're here!
Miles had so much fun at his 5th bday party! It was at "Space Cadets". The kids played in jumpy castles, ate pizza and an "Incredibles" cake, and then played mini-golf, & arcade games. Much fun!
The boys dressed up as pirates in honor of Grandma & Grandpa's arrival for Miles' bday weekend. Miles dressed up in a costume that included a white puffy shirt (think Seinfield) and as soon as he saw Noah's cool costume he started ripping his clothes off. He started trying to get Noah to wear his costume. In the end, they were both shirtless. Aaarrrghhh!
Miles opted for an 'indoor' easter egg hunt, so Mike hid the eggs in the playroom. We bought these cute plastic eggs that link together, so by the end of the hunt each boy had quite a necklace. Later in the day Miles, Noah, and I went to see Horton Hears A Who. Noah and I were zonked out for half of hit from our sugar-let-down!
The boys were so excited for Easter morning. As we walked downstairs, I heard Miles telling Noah "we have to go outside right away to find the eggs!". It made me wish that we'd hidden the eggs the night before. Still, they were thrilled to find their baskets full of candy (Noah started eating immediately!) and a new bunny 'lovie'. Miles named his bunny, "Super Easter Bunny" (everything is "super" these days!). I suggested that Noah name his bunny "bun-buns". He said, "Yes!". However, his interpretation of the name is "bunzzzz-bunzzzz". Its a huge mouthful and he really enunciates the "z" sound. Too funny!
...and a bunch of puffins. That pretty much sums up the animals that we saw at the NC Zoo. The animal viewing was a bust - but the day was great fun thanks to the company of Aunt Shannon & Mason. The NC Zoo also has a fun playground and a cool maze. Griffin relaxed the entire time-such a rock star 3rd child!
Miles & Noah LOVE blocks....mega blocks, bristle blocks, you name it - they'll build with it. Their current passion is legos -- the teeny, tiny rats-I-just-stepped-on-one kind. They love to chill and make the coolest things. At the same time, Griffin's newest trick is pulling up...so the train table no longer works as a safe building zone. Every day is a transition! :)
The boys LOVE to dress up in costumes. Their current favorite costume is Dash from the Incredibles. Miles wears it almost everyday....at home, riding bikes, at the mall, at restaurants --- you name it, he wears it. The mask leaves marks on his face and often mashes his ears down which makes it all the funnier. The only sticking point is that he doesn't want anyone to call him by the character's name that he's dressed as.....he'll say to someone very emphatically, "I'm not Dash! I'm Miles!" Too funny! We even got an Incredibles shirt for Mike so that he can join in the fun (at home).
Some kids want to eat baby food forever....Griffin only wants to eat what his brothers eat (and often eats better than Miles & Noah do!). Its bizarre to already be making three of the same plates of food every night for dinner --- but no complaints on my end!
While I put Griffin to bed the other night, the boys found a new place to play in their playroom upstairs. Its all about forts and hide-aways with boys, isn't it? Noah cleared out a shelf in the downstairs playroom the next morning for a little instant-replay.
