Memorial Day Weekend

We were doubly treated this Memorial Day with visits from both my and Mike's parents.  Love it when their visits cross!

It was hot -- so we spent some time at a local splash park.

Griffin took awhile to eat his dinner, so Gram helped out with the good ole airplane game.

Our keep-away game was much fun too!  I did more snapping than playing, but it was still fun (i gotta get a better system of "pics for 5-10 minutes, then camera down & play" - vs only taking pictures or only playing).  The kids had a hard time remembering who was on who's team, so we decided on a 'bandana team' and a non-bandana team'.

Preschool Wrap Up

Noah and Griffin LOVED their school year, loved their teachers, loved their friends.  I have video to go along with these photos....maybe someday I'll post them.  I'll post some favorite art projects and little stories sometime too.  Until then, here are a few shots of their program and their end of school picnic.  Bare bones, but proves it all happened.

{griffin's teachers are behind him.  LOVED them.  i'm in a bible study/life group with ms patti - the blonde.  love that we have that connection too}

{noah's teachers are behind him.  LOVED them too.  they could not have been more kind, more patient, more capable of getting noah out of his shell.  he really matured this year and made some strides with his confidence.  he has strides left to go...and i know he's going to do great in kindergarten.}

{the tk kids all got lollipop flowers.  they also handed flowers to each of the visitors from sharon towers -- a retirement community across the street where the kids go to greet and perform several times a year}

this is the only shot i took of the noah with friends.  i just wasn't in a snapping mood, i guess (and the boys never complain about that :).  one of these guys will be at the same school as Noah next year, which is nice.

I went to Griffin's class on his birthday and brought in cupcakes and read stories.

Another amazing cake by Angela.

Griffin and Ainsley.  When Ainsley's mom dropped her off, she told me that over the weekend, Ainsley had asked her parents who she would marry someday.  She then said, "I think Griffin would make a good dad."  hahahahaha

Griffin and our neighbor, "baby jack" - who is no longer a baby anymore - and who at a year and a couple months younger than griff completely towers over him :)

{jack's mom allison is insanely talented - as you can see by this wrapping.  inside was a batman nightlight that griffin LOVES.  allison also made the pom poms for lindsey's baby shower and helped me with colors and menu.  she is amazing.  i keep telling her she needs a business....}

My friend Dao took some photos too (she is an incredible photographer!!).  You can see them here.  Password = batman.

Griffin LOVED celebrating his birthday with his friends and I loved watching them all run around together (hardly took any photos...too many kids to keep track of).  His first choice was a sleepover party.  :)  I told him that would have to wait until he was turning 6.  The jumpy party was just as fun, I think.  :)  Mike and I now officially have "big kids" in our house.  Its crazy.  Its weird.  Its great.

Thursday night

We set up the tripod and snapped a family picture.  Its been WAY to long since our last photo session (and our fav family photographer just moved to San Diego, sniff-sniff).  Kind of perfect that the boys are in karate gear (when they haven't done karate in over a year) and Griffin is biting a rubber snake.  Our chaotic norm around here.

Miles got a new 20 inch bike a couple of months ago.  He LOVES it.  It has 7 gears and hand breaks.  It took him about a second to get used to it in the store.

As soon as we brought Miles' bike home, Miles's bike became Noah's bike.  Noah got on it and took off.  I'd taught him how to ride without training wheels in the fall, but he was too nervous/not ready.  Not this time.  When this kid is ready, he's ready.

Griffin rehydrated while the other boys rode around.

He was pretty happy about it.
