Adelaide Turns ONE!

We travelled to VA to celebrate Adelaide's 1st birthday with her.  Dana and Brad couldn't be there since they were in China.  Check out the adorable sign they made and shared over skpe.

We took a sister-pic since we were "all together".  We looked amazing (somehow I'm rocking a cone-head of sorts).  Its a treasure.

Jason's parents and my parents came to town to celebrate too.  Everyone got to work getting ready for the party.

Dinner with Friends

Dinner is always fun with friends.  and balloons.  and face paint.

Griffin and Clifford

Griffin's preschool class share a "suitcase" that has inside a Clifford book and a Clifford stuffed dog.  Each student brings the suitcase home for one night to enjoy Clifford and read the book.  Griffin has been DYING to get Clifford since school began.  Each day he'd hop into the car and tell me who got Clifford and would say, "wonder when I'll get him?"  The night the suitcase came home Griffin was ECSTATIC.  He could barely contain himself and definitely smiled non-stop.  They played games together (lots of UNO and memory --- twister was the funniest), we all went to the grocery store, read books, colored.  They even shared a snack.  It rocked. 

Family Time

We spent much relaxing family time in August.  Brad and I talked camera settings one afternoon while Adelaide crawled around and acted as our model.  She's one of the cutest models around, isn't she?  








Lindsey, Dana and I did the warrior dash together.  There were several hilarious moments -- like when I pretty much drank swamp water b/c someone else rolled me off of a log (yuck), when Dana tried to just "duck" under the barbed wire and the announcer had to yell out, "um - that's barbed wire!!" (this led to me telling him that she was preggo -- and then he got the entire crowd to cheer for her), and when I was TRAPPED on a skyscraper sized obstacle, literally thinking that I was going to plunge to my death (the guy behind me gave me WIDE eyes and said very slowly: take. your. time).  More photos here: http://theschubs.blogspot.com/2011/09/warrior-dash.html



We all LOVED LOVED LOVED spending the month of August with Dana and Brad.  They are back in China now (with a cute new baby girl growing in Dana's belly).  We are counting the days until they get back on US soil!!
