Noah started kindergarten. To say that he's been nervous about this transition all summer would be an understatement. When he was much younger, I never would have anticipated that he would be a child that would be averse to change and the unknown, but he is (case in point -- he truly had a melt down one morning this summer because my parents were taking us all to Carowinds and he wasn't sure if he would like it. yikes.) Unfortunately we couldn't meet his teacher at the open house the few days before school started because she couldn't be there. It was going to have to be a huge unknown. The kindergarteners are phased in over five days, so Noah went on the first day and then not again for a week. I think it helped that he and Miles started on the same day. I drove them both and then they road home together on the bus (later to be touted as Noah's favorite thing of the day). When I asked Noah after school if his teacher was nice, he looked up at me BEAMING, with a twinkle in his eye and said in a dreamy voice, "mom, ms ___ is so, so nice." Made me giggle and wonder if Noah has his first crush. :)
waiting for the bus in the afternoon (its always around an hour late on the first few days). at first you're giddy with excitement while you wait. then, well, then you're just waiting....

Look at the big smiles after the first day!! It was a huge success.

And off they go! Its always a mad dash to run ALL the way home. Cute, I think.
