Parade

We spent Saturday morning with 50,000+ others watching Charlotte's 14th annual Saint Patrick's Day parade through Uptown. There was lots to check out (including several catholic schools, some bizarre tiny tot beauty queens, rockin' roller derby girls (Dana - you would rock the house at roller derby, by the way), amazing kid gymnasts, a huge dancing troupe of girls that were all sporting the same crazy/curly-haired wigs, etc....)

Griffin waved at most everyone that went by (so cute) and stood up to pet every dog (there were lots of rescue animals in the event).

After the parade, we spent a couple of hours at Latta Park - a favorite spot that we've been missing all winter. It was chilly and g-r-e-y, but the kids didn't care. They had fun on the playground, but especially loved the nature trail. It was fun to really watch the dynamic of the three boys. Griffin definitely seems to have graduated to the youngest brother role -- verses the baby of the group. I love it for him and am a little teary about it for me. Thank goodness for the Schubert baby on the way....

Okay, dude. How did you get that great exposure at the parade (am I even using the right terminology here?) where Miles is so vivid and the background is almost "whited out"? Is that the new lens in action or some fancy photoshop work? Nice. (and sorry to miss you guys at the park..we headed over to Plaza Midwood and must have missed you then).

Aston was at the parade too...went with BB and Babs...won't stop talking about kids walking on their hands. Love the one of "youngest-brother" Griffin waving.
