Columbia

Within two weeks of starting school, the kids already had a mini-vacation, so the boys and I decided to band together with some friends and take a quick trip to Columbia.  I'm still amazed that they zipped through the zoo in under an hour (a world record?!?!) on Thursday afternoon and that they had so much fun at EdVenture on Friday that they could have stayed for 10 hours. Sandwiching an overnight stay in adjoining rooms with good friends just made it even better.

My favorite picture from the day was taken by my mom.  Can you believe the size of "Josh"?  The older kids (all but Griffin - he was a little scared of it all) LOVED climbing, sliding, and exploring inside of him (his heart, brain, digestive systems, etc...)

You can check out Trish's blog for more great pictures of the trip. Her pictures turned out much better than mine.  :)

I made a little video so the kids could remember their fun adventure in Columbia. **Guest starring Gram/my mom**

we all loved your video. it's so fun to have video clips in it. love the kids going to town on the blue man group instruments (and gram dancing). we definitely need to get a flip (or something) in the next month. i had photos of noah and jack running into those soft blocks, but it definitely didn't make me smile like the video did.
you got some GREAT shots. i'm going to have to save that last one of all of us in the museum. love gram's shot, too--great perspective. we got scolded by a museum employee when i put jack up there. you gotta' be quick for that one. :)
fun trip! we're up for another one!

wow! great song in the movie! i loved Gram dancing blue man style, the giant water table, griffin vs. josh, griff in his camp T-shirt, the fireman scene, giant legos, ella with the crossed legs and just the over experience for you, trish and the kids...

Gosh-this place is AMAZING. I feel like you need to change the title of your post to whatever this place is called, forgetting suddenly, so the PR person can find you (mama kate style). Gram is so great. See where you get your fun-lovingness from. These are all great. Love the B&W you posted of the group. So fun. Gosh, for some reason this made me sad that Kate doesn't have older siblings. She said today randomly as we were driving around, "I love Miles, Noah, Griffin and Mrs. Brooke (sorry Mr Mike)...they're not mean friends, they're nice friends. She prays for you people first at night (and Jack too sometimes ;)) Too funny.

Okay - goofy sister aside (so glad it is NOT in MY genes!!!) I loved the bongos (I wanna play 'em) but my favorite part was Griffin and the net. There is always at least one part of every one of your videos that makes me laugh out loud.
Put that place on the list for my dream day when we get second cousins (is that what they are?)together.
