After the event we walked around Uptown, had dinner at Brixx (Mike and Griffin drove in to meet us), then I took the boys part of the way home on the lighrail and Mike drove to pick us up.
When we left the Belk theatre, an impromptu band starting playing some Jackson 5 music.

(check out the little guy on the end! he was not a day older than five.)
We walked around and tried to get a snack at Reid's grocery store. It was gone! We snapped some pics in front of their empty store windows instead.

The boys worked out their energy and just ran up and down the sidewalk.

Miles wasn't really in a picture mood. I teased him that he was more in a "high five" mood since he kept putting his hand in front of the camera.

Noah was feeling smiley (I know - too many of these -- but I have about 20, so I am paring them down.)

I wish Charlotte had some abandoned train tracks that we could photograph. Do we?

The kids were ridiculously excited to ride the light rail. They practically slept with their tickets tonight.

Check out Miles' face. Who knows what freaked him out (I really didn't want to call attention to whatever he was wary of, so I didn't look over.)

At every stop they would say, "is this our stop?!"...."this isn't out stop!"....Noah asked if next time we could take the train on a "long trip." Love that their childhood includes access to a lightrail on a normal Sunday afternoon (though hard to imagine ever feeling comfortable letting them ride it alone when they are older!)

Cute cute cute (& so photogenic) kids!! What a fun day. I have to tell you several Christmases ago my dad made us "kids" (aged 25 & up at the time) ride the light rail. I dont think we enjoyed it as much as your boys :)
how fun with the music downtown! I can't believe how little that one boy was with the giant trombone! did the boys like Mary Poppins?? How about a post about LADY GAGA!! Oh, and Jason was very much impressed with Miles' picture of you and Noah!
what a cool kid fun packed day! The light rail is the bomb...love that they didn't want it to end. were these taken with the 85mm? they are sooo crystal clear. Noah's toothless window in his mouth is hiar! LOVE LOVE the Fresh Fish one that miles took of you 2. need to enter that somewhere...
l.o.v.e the first picture. it's like you're in new orleans. your editing turned it into art. these are awesome--you can see the fun you had. great shots of each of the boys (even though miles wasn't in to it--i'm really drawn to the close up one of him, red really works with that kind of post processing). which lens did you use this day--the 85mm?
I had the 50mm on that day. Haven't used it in ages and wanted to compare it to the 85mm. I liked it -- but was kicking myself when I couldn't get all of the wide shots that I wanted to.
what a fun day! love the noah up closes, the fish face and the b&w of noah with ticket. yes, agree with trish! great first pic!! N.O. all the way. so I guess MP would be too long for Kate? we'll discuss.
Didn't you love the MP? Awesome! We had impromptu music outside after our show, too. Who knew uptown was so fun before dark! ;)
We found GREAT west facing tracks back behind Cabo Fish Taco in NoDa. I want to head back that way soon! It was fun.
