Blast Off to St Louis!

We left for St Louis on Thursday morning and drove for about 7 hours before stopping in Clarksville, TN for the night. We had a relaxing drive, frequently stopping at rest areas to stretch our legs, kick a ball around and run. It made every segment of the trip something to look forward to (hotels brought much to the table...beds to jump on....pools to swim in...huge waffles for breakfast....they rocked).

Our first extended stop was a little more purposeful than we anticipated. I'll tell the story, but the background that you likely know is that Miles HATES to be wet, unless he's swimming or bathing. He will often change his clothes IMMEDIATELY if he gets one drop of juice on them.

Miles: I have to go the bathroom!
Brooke/Mike: Ok! We'll stop.
We looked for an exit but didn't see one, so after a few minutes, Mike just pulled over on the highway so that Miles could discreetly go to the bathroom there. Miles: What's going on? What are we doing?
Mike: You said you had to go to the bathroom. Come on, let's go.
Miles (barely peeking over his nintendo ds): Oh, I already went.

WHAT?! It was so random and uncharacteristic for him that I actually started laughing (hiding it, of course). I told him to stand up and take his shorts/undies off so that we could put some dry clothes on him, and while he did that, his soaked shorts rubbed up against Mike's pillow. Mike started panicking..."my pillow! my pillow!" The entire event was really too funny. I'm surprised that I didn't pee in my pants laughing. It was already starting out to be a classic road trip.

Thanks for getting the party started, Miles.

Miles really wanted to play tackle football with Noah ("you're supposed to push, mom"). Surprise, surprise.

Noah loves gathering sticks/procuring swords.

Future goalie?

Love seeing this. Makes me extra excited for summer.
