Imaginon

Miles, Noah and I spent a few hours at Imaginon on Saturday. We checked out the play Aladdin. The boys weren't familiar with the story and they loved it, giggling throughout. I realized driving home that it was the first romantic tale they'd ever seen (no princess movies in this house) and soon after I heard Miles saying to Noah, "hey, how about we pretend that this sponge bob toy is a girl, and then she'll kiss the other sponge bob." Wow, that was fast. Actually, I've heard all of Miles' 6-year-old friends talk about their "girlfriends" at school (while joining them for lunch, etc.). Guess it was only a matter of time before Miles caught up.

Imaginon is an amazing children's library in Uptown Charlotte and every time we go I wonder why we don't take the lightrail there every weekend. Its full of color and often has cool traveling exhibits. It has a kid-sized trolley to play in and lots of computers and books. Its just one of those places where you want to spend some time. I wished that Griffin could have joined us for the playtime after the play (the boys are pictured below playing with some "puzzle ottomans").
We'll definitely make this a regular part of our summer fun.

Sounds like fun. My house is FULL of princess movies. We're just starting to fill in with "boy" movies.
